The item pictured is a 19th-century flat-top steamer trunk, originally crafted around the late 1880s to early 1900s. Similar historical models were manufactured by prominent American makers such as the Rountree & Bro. Trunk and Bag Company of Richmond, Virginia, and the Henry Pollack Trunk Co..
I am not sure exactly what these are but I know my family is from Europe. They traveled over here in these. We’ve had them in the family since the early 1900s.
